MCLA Men snap skid against Green Mountain 2-1 in Men's Soccer

Poultney, VT- MCLA's Drew Webster tallied in the 79th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Trailblazers a much needed 2-1 win over Green Mountain.  The win snapped a five match winless drought and improved MCLA to 4-6-1 overall.  Green Mountain falls to 1-7 overall.

Webster's game winner was his first goal of the season.  MCLA had taken a 1-0 advantage when junior Jake McCall scored off a loose ball in front of the net in the 22nd minute.  The lead will hold into the half.

Green Mountain quickly responded in the second half when Matt Kukola scored off a Chris Gaskin corner kick to knot the score setting the stage for Webster's goal.

MCLA held a commanding 18-6 advantage in shots, including a 13-1 edge on net.  The Trailblazers also held a 7-2 corner kick advantage.

MCLA's Shawn Willis earned his first win of the season stopping one shot.  Green Mountain's Nate Kishbaugh turned away 11 shots in defeat.

The Trailblazers will travel to Framingham State on Saturday looking for their first MASCAC win of the season.
