MCLA snags road win at Sage in Men's Soccer 3-0

Troy, NY- The MCLA Men's Soccer team earned a 3-0 non conference road win over Sage College Tuesday night, giving the Trailblazers a bit of momentum heading into their final conference weekend.  With the victory, MCLA improves to 5-9 overall, while Sage falls to 12-4-1.

MCLA's senior Jacob McCall (Lincoln, RI/Lincoln) put the Trailblazers on the board with his sixth goal of the season after he converted the feed from senior Joseph Mecca (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) at the 25:47 mark. The score remained a 1-0 MCLA lead at the break.

The Trailblazers tallied a pair of second half scores as sophomore Luke Fisher (Sharon, MA/Sharon) scored an unassisted goal at 61:59 and classmate, Ben Souza (Monson, MA/Monson) converted the feed from junior Drew Webster (Petersburgh, NY/Berlin) at 76:35 for his second goal of the season.

MCLA's junior goalie Shawn Willis (Stephentown, NY/Berlin) made four saves in starting the match and shared the shutout win with sophomore Matthew Robinson (Petersham, MA/Maher), who made the saves in the second half of the contest.     

Sage freshman goalkeeper TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) made five saves in the his 81 minutes of work with three goals allowed, while junior Tim Madden (Watertown, NY/Watertown) in eight and a half minutes of work. 

MCLA will now wrap up the regular season with an important MASCAC match with Worcester State on Friday night.  The Trailblazers remain in the hunt for a MASCAC postseason berth which begins next week.
