MCLA and Fitchburg play to double overtime draw in Men's Soccer

North Adams, MA- On a cloudy day at Shewcraft field MCLA and MASCAC rival Fitchburg played into a double overtime tie 0-0. With the tie MCLA is 0-2-1 in MASCAC play and Fitchburg is 1-0-2.

MCLA's best chance came when Romeo Gray headed down the right side of the field in the second half and touched the ball towards the goal as Fitchburg goalie Aidan Hanratty tried making a play but his shot went just wide.

Fitchburg State then had there best chance to score when the ball was loose inside the goalie box but back to back Matt Robinson saves kept the game tied.

In overtime neither team could find the back of the net as they swapped shots on goal. Each team took three shots a piece.

Both MCLA and Fitchburg took 14 shots on the day. Hanratty had 8 saves while Robinson had 6.

MCLA held the advantage in corner kicks 5-3.

MCLA will be back on the field when they travel to Framingham next Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
