Men's Soccer places three on All MASCAC Team

2013 Men's Soccer All MASCAC Team

North Adams, MA- The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) announced the Men's Soccer All MASCAC team this afternoon.  The MCLA Trailblazers were well represented placing three players on the squad.

Edward Boateng was named to the first team, while Robert Dalby and Tyler Guzzi were second team selections.

Brendan Whitson of Worcester State was tabbed as the Player of the Year, while Massachusetts Martime Head Coach Greg Perry was named Coach of the year.

Boateng, a freshman, established himself as a solid offensive threat starting nine games in the midfield.  The shifty athlete from Worcester, MA scored a goal and added a pair of assists, but was known for creating opportunities for his teammates.  Boateng was named rookie of the week following his performance against Westfield State.

Dalby returned to the pitch after a year off and turned in a solid performance as a defender.  The senior from Ludlow, MA did score a goal and added an assist along the way.  His leadership on the back line led the Trailblazers to record five shutouts this season.  The honor marks the first for Dalby in a Trailblazer uniform.

Guzzi is also a first time all MASCAC selection.  The back from Southborough, MA joined Dalby on the defensive end.  Guzzi did collect three assists, good enough for second on the team, throughout the season.

The Trailblazers ended their season with mark of 5-9-1.
