Men's Soccer can't stay with Skidmore, fall 5-0 on the road

Saratoga Springs, NY- Skidmore College controlled play for the entire day as the Thoroughbreds tallied three first half goals and added two more in the second half as they routed MCLA 5-0 this afternoon in Men's Soccer.  Skidmore moves to 4-2 overall while MCLA drops to 0-4-2 on the season.

The Thoroughbreds owned a commanding 35-8 shot advantage over the Trailblazers and wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard.  In the 8th minute, Adebare Oyeniyi headed home the ball off a Ben Caples feed for a quick 1-0 lead.  MCLA would keep the hosts off the board over the next 29 minutes, however Skidmore would put the game away with a pair of goals just 14 seconds apart.

At the 37:59 mark, Todd Jensen drilled home a penalty kick making it 2-0 and then just 14 ticks later, Augustine Okoye took a through pass from Jeremy Tenenbaum and beat MCLA's Kamron Anderson for an insurmountable 3-0 halftime lead.

Any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed when Okoye scored again just four minutes after halftime, this time off a Andrey Pertsov assist.  Nick Masiero rounded out the scoring in the 73rd minute.

Skidmore's Eli Kisselbach started and earned the win stopping the two shots he faced.  He teamed with Derrick Yam.

Anderson absorbed the loss saving 10 shots.  He was relieved by Dylan McArdle who stopped 3 shots.

MCLA will seek their first win on Saturday when they travel to Salem State.
