Offense comes to life for Men's Soccer in 4-1 win over Elms

Holyoke, MA- MCLA junior Dylan Pereira notched a pair of goals and an assist in leading the Trailblazers to a 4-1 non conference win over Elms on the road this afternoon.  The win is MCLA's second straight as they improve to 2-4-2 on the season.  Elms drops to 2-7.

Elms struck first early on as Lorenzo Rolocut scored in the 4th minute to give the hosts an early 1-0 lead.  Pereira would lead MCLA back though tallying just five minutes later as he booted home Edward Boateng's cross.  In the 26th minute, Pereira would send a cross into the box that leading scorer Anthony Basile would head home giving the Trailblazers a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.

MCLA erased any hopes for an Elms comeback with goals in the 62nd and 68th minutes.  Pereira once again was the center of attention as he finished off a Kwadwo Kusi feed to make it 3-1 before Sean Kenney headed home a free kick off the foot of Christopher Shea to provide the final margin.

For the match, MCLA outshot Elms 22-17, but the hosts held a 9-4 edge in corners.

Trailblazer Kamron Anderson earned the win stopping a pair of shots in goal.

His counterpart, Christian Kostka collected 8 saves in a losing effort.

MCLA will seek their third straight win when they take on Westfield State Saturday at 1pm at Shewcraft Field.
