Tennis drops season finale with Green Mountain 8-1
Bennington, VT- The Green Mountain Eagles swept the doubles matches and then cruised to victory over the MCLA Trailblazers 8-1 this evening in a match played at the Bennington Tennis Center. With the win, the Eagles improve to 4-8 while MCLA wraps up its season at 3-7.
The Green Mountain duo of Connor Braden and Jack Hepburn won 8-1 in the top doubles slot defeating Rob Wabshinak and Taylor Krowitz. Nate Berner-Tobin and Grey McCampbell won 8-3 over Jeff Mason and Christian Sanchez, while Andrew Woodman and Adrian Torres won a close match with Richard LaRocque and Ray Yelle (8-6) in the third slot.
Braden held serve in the number one singles spot defeating Wabshinak in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Hepburn cruised past Mason 6-0, 6-0 in the third slot, while McCampbell and Woodman won their respective matches in straight sets as well.
Nate Berner-Tobin defeated Krowitz in a pro style set singles match 8-6.
Andrea Binder took MCLA's lone point defeating Forrest Teutsch 8-6 to close the match.
