Najimy named NAC Tennis player of the week

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Cal Najimy has been selected as the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) player of the week in Tennis. Najimy helped the Trailblazers secure a pair of NAC wins over the weekend as they defeated NVU-Lyndon on Saturday and NVU-Johnson on Sunday.
Najimy went 4-2 overall in three matches for MCLA. He dropped a pair of matches against Rhode Island College during the week, but rebounded with strong performances at the number one singles and doubles posts for MCLA. Najimy would team with Matt Bluteau to earn a hard fought 9-6 doubles point against Lyndon's Patrick Wickstrom and Neal Mulligan. He would then best Wickstrom in three sets to earn a point in singles as MCLA defeated the Hornets 8-1.
Against Johnson, he once again paired with Bluteau for another 8-6 win, this time against Austin Walters and John Folsom. Najimy would then defeat Walters in straight sets for his second point of the match. MCLA cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Badgers.
Najimy and the Trailblazers are off until the 16th when they host the Hornets again.
