Cancilla wins second straight, MCLA captures Vermont Tech Invitational

RANDOLPH CENTER, VT – Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Junior Anthony Cancilla led the charge for the Trailblazers in a time of 28:47 as they ran away to win the Men's 8K in the Second Annual Three Stallion Invitational Hosted by Vermont Tech on Saturday.
MCLA took five of the top ten spots to earn the victory, while Green Mountain College captured three of those top ten positions, including a second place overall for Junior Forrest Teutsch in 29:12, to secure second place. Southern Vermont was third overall both in the team standings and individually as Freshman Joshua Ceasar completed the hilly course in 29:45. Vermont Tech finishing fourth in the men's division, with Ryan Follensbee (So./South Royalton, VT) rounding out the top ten in 32:57.
For the women, Junior Dakota Van Tine completed the 5K course in a time of 22:45, followed by her own teammate, Sophomore Peyton Jones, on route to Green Mountain College grabbing the top place on the podium. Nashua Community College runner Alyss Lombardi finished out the top three in a time of 23:01. MCLA took team second, led home by Sophomore Claire Simmons' fifth place, with Southern Vermont finishing third. Vermont Tech did not garner team points, but Brittany Osborne (So./Colchester, VT) and Serena Reynolds (Fr./Alburgh, VT) finished 22nd and 23rd, respectively.
