Cross Country kicks off season at Maple Syrup Challenge

Randolph, VT- The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams kicked off their respective 2022 seasons Saturday as they traveled north to the Vermont Technical College (VTC) Maple Syrup Challenge.

Women's Race

In the Women's race Middlebury won the team competition with 19 points. MCLA finished 9th.  Beatrice Parr (Middlebury) took the individual competition with a time of 20:05.26. First year Kristie Zator (Windham, CT) led the way for the Trailblazers with a 25:21.84 time finishing 32nd.

Men's Race

Middlebury also won the Men's competition with 15 points. Alec Gironda (Middlebury) won the individual competition with a time of 27:05.50. First year Ethan LaForest (Bennington, VT) finished the course with a time of 37:29.96 leading the Trailblazers on the men's side.

Both squads will head to Milton, NY this Friday for a dual meet hosted by SUNY New Paultz.
