Three Trailblazers earn All MASCAC weekly honors

North Adams, MA- Three MCLA Trailblazers were honored by the MASCAC this afternoon as announced by the league offices.  In baseball, Chase Preite was tabbed as the player of the week while Eamonn Andre was selected as the co-rookie of the week.  For Softball, Rachel Quackenbush was chosed as the co-pitcher of the week.

Preite batted .467 in a 2-2 start for MCLA in the RussMatt invitational.  His hot start included a 4-5 performance in a win over Rhode Island College in which he drove in four runs.  For the week, he tallied 7 RBI's and scored four times. 

Andre tossed three scoreless frames in MCLA's comeback win over Becker on Saturday.  He shared the honor with Worcester State's Adam Barry.  Andre struck out a pair and allowed just three hits in his first collegiate appearance.

Quackenbush is off to a torrid start for MCLA going 2-1 in four appearances.  She shares the honor with Amber White of Bridgewater State.  Quackenbush posted a 1.96 ERA and collected a whopping 52 strikeouts on the week.  She tossed a pair of shutouts in wins over Rockford and Elms, striking out 15 and 16 respectively in each game. 

Both teams will continue their Florida swing on Tuesday with doubleheaders.
