MCLA Women top Elms, claim tournament Championship
Wehner named MVP, Perks named to All Tournament team
Chicopee, MA- Four players were in double figures in leading MCLA to a ten point victory 69-59 over Elms in the final of the Elms College Classic. With the win, the Trailblazers improve to 3-0 on the season.
MCLA trailed Elms by a point at the half, but junior guard Hilary Perks notched 10 of her 12 points in the second half to secure the comeback victory. Perks also added six boards and a team high four assists on the afternoon.
The Trailblazers had a very balanced attack as eight players registered in the scoring column. Reaching double figures were junior Molly Broda (14), Senior Laura Silverman (12), and Freshmen Lucy Tremblay (10).
Sophomore forward Jen Wehner was named the MVP of the classic as she tallied six points to go along with a game high 13 rebounds. Perks was also named to the all tournament team for her efforts.
MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Becker College.
