Tremblay nets career high 30, but MCLA falls to Williams 87-65

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Lucy Tremblay scored a career high 30 points, but the visiting Williams College Ephs pulled away from MCLA and went on to an 87-65 victory.  The Trailblazers suffered their first loss of the season while Williams moved to 4-0.

Williams' Jill Greenberg finished with a team high 23 points and 6 assists.  Grace Rehnquist came off the bench to score 21, including five three pointers.  Claire Baecher chipped in with 14 points and 8 rebounds.  Kellie MacDonald added 10.

Williams broke open a close game in the second half after holding a slim 42-41 lead at the break.  The Ephs blitzed the Trailblazers off the glass in the second half, outrebounding the hosts 29-12 over the final twenty minutes.  Rehnquist had 15 of her points in the final period.

In the opening minutes of the second period, the game was tied at 51 all.  Williams would use a 14-2 spurt to go up 65-53 with 12:53 remaining.  After a Wehner layup brought MCLA back within ten, Williams answered with a 7-0 run to build a commanding 72-55 lead.  MCLA would never challenge from there.

Tremblay was tough to handle from the onset totaling 18 first half points to keep MCLA close.  She shot 13-27 from the floor on the night.  Tremblay was effective driving to the hoop, but also connected on a pair of three pointers.

Alie Dobrovolc added 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Jen Wehner had 10 points and 7 rebounds as well.

MCLA will play Bates College on Friday at the Norwich Invitational.
