WORCESTER, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Hockey team had a rough day against the Anna Maria AMCATS this evening at the Buffone Arena, dropping the second game of their home and home series with the AMCATS 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Already trailing 1-0 after the first period on a goal by Abigail Vigilotte (assisted by Carly Drew), a four-goal second period pushed the AMCATS beyond the Trailblazer's reach. The AMCATS got the second-period goals from Olympia Myers (Samantha Rodriguez, Chloe Becher), Tessa Henry (Myers, Becher), Ceili Nolan (Vigilotte, Henry), and Jordyn Bleaney (Shayla MacDonald). The goals by Nolan and Bleaney came 15 seconds apart in the period's closing minute. With less than five minutes in regulation, the AMCATS added an additional goal by Kourtney Mielke (Henry, Myers ).
  • MCLA's Kaia Borski recorded 35 saves on 41 shots in her collegiate debut but fell to 0-1-0 for the season.
  • The Trailblazers were frustrated by Anna Maria's Sam Dahill, who stopped all 25 shots she faced to record the shutout.
