NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Hockey team was held off of the scoreboard in their MASCAC match-up this evening with Worcester State, dropping a 6-0 decision to the Lancers. The Lancers got a pair of goals from both Katie Puumala and Cailey Ryan.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

  • Worcester States Abbey Millman scored the game's first goal with just over three minutes having run off the clock. Assists were credited to Cassidhe Wozniak and Lea Gaspar.
  • About 90 seconds later, Katie Puumala scored, with the Lancers enjoying a man advantage. Ellen Cook was noted as the helper for the goal that would be the last scored in the first period.
  • With just over three minutes having run off the clock again, the Lancers found the back of the net; this time, the goal went to Amy MacGlashing with assists from Sydney Vautour and Millman.
  • As the 12-minute mark of the second period was closing in, Worcester State scored their second goal of the second period, with Cailey Ryan being the one to light the lamp off a feed from Puumala.
  • The Lancers added two more third-period goals to set the final score at 6-0. Those goals were the second tallies of the night for both scorers. It was Puumala from Olivia Fehl and Ryan and then Ryan from Puumala and Cook.
  • MCLA netminder Katie O'Brien was under a constant barrage of shots, making a career-high 61 saves on the night, but still saw her record drop to 1-2-0.
