SALEM, Mass. – Rebekah Ade scored a short-handed goal and Juliette Barney stopped all 45 shots she faced as the MCLA Women's Ice Hockey recorded the first shutout in the program's short history. The 1-0 victory over Lebanon Valley College in the consolation game of the Salem State Viking Cup tournament improved the Trailblazers' record to 3-10.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • With seconds remaining on a third-period two-minute penalty kill, MCLA stopped multiple attempts from the Flying Dutchmen to enter the offensive zone, finally Rebekah Ade knocked the puck off the stick of a Lebanon Valley player at the Dutchmen's blue line for a breakaway opportunity. Ade settled the puck on her stick between the faceoff circles and beat the goalie high to her blocker side.
  • The goal was Ade's third of the season and her second short-handed goal of the year. She previously recorded a shorty against Anna Maria College on November 9th.
  • Juliette Barney stopped all 45 shots she faced to generate her second win of the season, improving her record to 2-4-0. The shutout was the first of Barney's career and the first for the Trailblazers program.
  • Lebanon Valley outshot MCLA 45-18 and had at least 12 shots in every period, while the Trailblazers finished with just six shots in all three periods.
