HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The teams played to a scoreless draw through the first period and a half. The Falcons broke through for the game's first goal on a power play in the second frame. Gabriella Dellacroce (at 12:16, assisted by Molly Martin and Tori Walsh) was credited with the goal. Albertus Magnus added a second goal in the third period from Briony Retasket (4:35, Molly Martin).
  • MCLA's Juliette Barney followed up her record-setting 69 appearance at Williams College earlier this week with another outstanding effort, stopping 37 of 39 shots (.949 save percentage), but was still saddled with the loss, dropping her record to 3-6-0.
  • The Falcons goalie, Christmas Johnson, earned the win, stopping all 26 shots she faced and improving her ledger to 4-8-2.
  • The Trailblazers entered action today with the seventh-best penalty-kill percentage in the nation at .951. The power-play goal allowed tonight was only the second that MCLA has allowed in the last four games, a span of 10 power-play opportunities.

Over their last six games entering tonight, the Falcons had averaged 23 penalty minutes per game and were coming off a 44 PIM "effort" last Saturday against Anna Maria.
