Kaylyn Smith named Interim Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department has announced that Kaylyn Smith will be the Interim Head Women's Lacrosse Coach for the 2013-14 club season.  The Lacrosse program will be at club status this year, before attaining varsity status and competing in the MASCAC for the 2014-15 academic year.

Smith, who is entering her second year at MCLA as the assistant to the Athletics Director, was a two sport athlete at Western New England University from 2006-2010.  Smith was also the president of the WNE Student Athlete Advisory Committee during her years there.  As a senior, she was awarded the NCAA Champs Life Skills award for excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service.

After graduating from WNE, Smith enrolled immediately at Springfield College where she earned her Masters degree in Athletic Administration.  She was the graduate assistant for the graduate admission program during her time there, while also coordinating special events in athletics.

Smith led the Trailblazers through an intramural lacrosse season last spring.  The now club team, will have a full practice schedule this spring and will compete in a number of contests.
