Women’s Lacrosse drops MASCAC decision to Worcester State

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.—The MCLA Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 20-1 decision to Worcester State today at Shewcraft Field. With the win the Lancers improve to 6-5 (2-0 MASCAC) while the Trailblazers fall to 2-3 (0-2 MASCAC).

Worcester State reeled off eight straight goals to begin the game before MCLA's Summer Nichols scored her 17th goal of the season to put the Trailblazers on the board halfway through the second quarter, but the Lancers would score the next four to make it 12-1 at the half.

The Lancers held possession for most of the second half outscoring the Trailblazers 8-0 on their way to the 20-1 win. Clare Conway had a game-high 6 goals for Worcester State.

Worcester State starting goalie Savanna Rosado made 2 saves earning the win improving to 5-4 on the season. MCLA goalkeeper Lori Lester endured the loss falling to 2-3.

Both teams will next hit the road for nonconference games on Wednesday as Worcester State takes on Western Connecticut at 6pm and MCLA battles Wells College at 3pm.
