Women’s Lacrosse ends season with 21-2 defeat at Bridgewater State

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.—The Bridgewater State Women's Lacrosse team ended MCLA's season with a decisive 21-2 victory featuring nine different goal scorers this afternoon at Alumni Park. With the win the Bears improve to 10-7 (5-2 MASCAC) while the Trailblazers finish the season with a 2-9 (0-7 MASCAC) mark.

After being outscored 6-0 in the first, MCLA's Skyelyn Haynes and Julia Graham put the Trailblazers on the board to make it 6-2 midway through the second. However, the Bears finished the half on a 5-0 run carrying an 11-2 lead into the intermission.

It was more of the same in in the second half as Bridgewater's goal streak continued with four in the third and six more in the fourth ending the game on a 15-0 run as the Bears cruised to the 21-2 MASCAC win.

Bridgewater State's Haley Wood finished with a game-high four goals while Delaney Lanton (3 goals, six assists), Ashley Silva (3 goals, assist) and Meredith Silva (3 goals) each added in a hattrick.

Three keepers combined to stop 3 shots for the Bears with starter Olivia Kerrigan (W, 7-6) earning the win. MCLA's Lori Lester (L, 2-9) made 14 saves but took the loss in net for the Trailblazers.
