Framingham, MA- Four different Rams scored goals leading the Framingham State University women's soccer team to a MASCAC conference win over MCLA on Saturday afternoon at the Maple Street Field. With the victory the Rams improve to 8-4 (3-1 MASCAC) and the Trailblazers fall to 3-8-1 (1-3 MASCAC).

The Rams opened up scoring in the 21st minute when freshman Molly Kelley (Medway, MA) buried a long shot into the back of the net after a lead pass from junior Brini Varetimos (North Attelboro, MA). Varetimos was credited with an assist, one of two on the day.

The Rams had a few scoring other opportunities in the first half but were able to hold the Trailblazers without a shot in the opening half.

Framingham added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute when senior Marisa Parent (Revere, MA) beat the Trailblazers keeper one-on-one after a Varetimos pass.

In the 58th minute senior Isabela DeSouza (Framingham, MA) scored her first of two goals on the day. DeSouza hit a corner kick that bent inside the nearside post before being fully deflected in by the Trailblazer keeper. Just over a minute later DeSouza struck again after gaining possession in the offensive zone, she dribbled past a few Trailblazer defenders and beat the keeper one-on-one to extend the Rams lead.

The Trailblazers best chance to score was in the 61st minute when an MCLA player sent a strike from 20 yards out that sailed wide right of the net.

The Rams capped the scoring when sophomore Angela Pallotta (Sterling, MA) scored her first goal of the season on a one-time shot from classmate Michaela Hyland (East Longmeadow, MA).

The Rams defense was able to hold MCLA to 2 shots while making 30 attempts. Sophomore Sara Sullivan (Quincy, MA) made 1 save in 90 minutes in route to her 3rd shutout of the season for the Rams. Sophomore Kathryn Daly (South Cairo, NY) made 10 saves in her 90 minutes.
