Caney named second team All MASCAC

2014 Women's Soccer All MASCAC Team

North Adams, MA- The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference has announced the 2014 women's soccer all conference team.  MCLA's Natalie Caney was selected to the second team and was the only Trailblazer to make the squad.

Worcester State's Alicia Macomber was chosen as the conference's player of the year.

Caney, the reigning MASCAC rookie of the year, changed roles in 2014.  After scoring 17 goals a year ago, she tallied two as a sophomore after moving to outside midfielder.  She was instrumental in transitioning the ball forward, especially later in the year.

Caney and the Trailblazers ended their season on Wednesday after falling to the Framingham State Rams 1-0 in the MASCAC quarterfinals.

Worcester State swept the major awards as Justine Butler was selected as the conference's rookie of the year, while head coach Kevin Cumberbatch was selected by his peers as the coach of the year.
