Women's Soccer earns NSCAA Silver Award for Ethics

2014 NSCAA Ethics Award Winners

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer program has earned the NSCAA Silver Award for Ethics following the 2014 season.  The award is based upon the number of cards accumulated throughout the season.  The honor marks the 12th time in the last 15 seasons in which head coach Deb Raber's troops were recipients.  Last season MCLA earned the bronze award.

Eight intercollegiate teams received the NSCAA's Gold Team Ethics Award for completing the entire 2014 season without receiving either a yellow or red card. 

In all, 125 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

A total of 82 teams claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards, while the Bronze Award went to 35 teams, which is presented to teams that receive no reds and a maximum of 10 yellows.

Gold: No cards accumulated during the season

Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season

Bronze: No more than 10 cards accumulated during the season
