2015 NSCAA All New England Team

North Adams, MA- MCLA women's soccer standout Alexi Anderson has been selected to the NSCAA All New England Third Team as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  The Trailblazer senior was also a first team All MASCAC selection earlier this season.

Anderson was one of two MASCAC representatives on the roster as she was joined by Massachusetts Maritime's Katie Levesque on the third team.

For MCLA, Anderson was a mainstay for head coach Deb Raber on the backline during the 2015 season.    Anderson is the second player under Coach Raber and first since Jess Tietgens in 2009 to be selected to the All Region team.

"I am so proud of Alexi and to see her hard work pay off with being named to the all-region team. She plays with such tenacity and I'm glad she's on our team and I didn't have to play against her," Raber was quoted when asked about Anderson's selection.

The senior started 15 games for the Trailblazers and was instrumental in the pair of shutouts that MCLA recorded. The versatile Anderson often moved forward later in the season and recorded one goal.  The senior was known for her toughness as a defender and one who often challenged the attacker.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., the NSCAA has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. The organization works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.
