Richardson earns second MASCAC player of the week honor after pair of stellar performances

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA goal keeper Megan Richardson was selected as the MASCAC player of the week sponsored by GEICO as announced by the league offices this afternoon.  The honor is the second for Richardson this season.  She was joined on the weekly report with Olivia Mihalek of Framingham State who earned the conference's rookie of the week.

Richardson has been a shining star all season for MCLA.  She has started in goal every game for head coach Deb Raber and enjoyed one of her best weeks of the season.  She collected 19 saves on the week for the Trailblazers and posted a 0.95 Goals against Average (GAA).

Richardson began the week with 8 saves in a tough 2-1 loss to Southern Vermont last Tuesday night.  She would follow that performance up with a 2-0 shutout victory over Mass. Maritime on Friday.  In that contest, Richardson notched 11 saves to earn her second shutout of the season.  For the year, she currently leads the MASCAC in Saves (101) and is second in Save Percentage at .856.

Richardson and the Trailblazers will look to keep the momentum going from Friday's win when they battle Cobleskill tomorrow night and Framingham State on Saturday.
