Women's Tennis opens NAC play with 7-2 road win over Lyndon State

Lyndon, VT- The MCLA women's tennis team once again swept through the doubles matches and coasted to a 7-2 win over Lyndon State in the conference opener for both teams.  The Trailblazers are now 3-3 overall and 1-0 in NAC play.  The Hornets drop to 1-3 overall and are now 0-1 in NAC play.

Emily Deaso, Mariza Sfakianaki, and Taylor Turner all earned a pair of points for the Trailblazers. Deaso teamed with Sfakianaki in the top doubles slot to win 8-2.  Turner teamed with Shelby Gauthier to win 8-3 in the second slot.  The duo of Anna Despart and Kylie Dumas won the third doubles match 8-5 sending MCLA to the sweep heading into singles play.

Deaso continued her strong play at number one singles winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.  Turner also won in the second slot by a score of 6-2, 6-3.  Sfakianaki won in the third spot 6-1, 6-4.  The Trailblazers lost the fourth and fifth slots before Dumas won her second point of the day with a hard fought three set win 7-6, 6-4.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Friday when they host Green Mountain in North Adams.
