Tennis moves to 2-0 in NAC with sweep of Green Mountain

North Adams, MA- The MCLA women's tennis team received points from eight different players as they cruised past visiting Green Mountain 9-0 this afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match.  With the win, the Trailblazers moved to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in league play.  The Eagles fall to 1-3 overall and suffer their first conference setback.

MCLA eased its way through doubles action dropping just three games.  The top duo of Emily Deaso and Mariza Sfakianaki won 8-2, while Taylor Turner teamed with Shelby Gauthier to win 8-1 in the second match.  MCLA's Rebecca Waterhouse and Anna Despart didn't drop a game winning 8-0 from the third slot to complete the sweep heading into singles play.

The Trailblazers weren't challenged in singles action as Deaso, Turner, Sfakianaki, and Waterhouse all earned their second points.  Ashley Juskhas and Lyna Benantar earned points out the fifth and sixth slots respectively.  The point was the first win of the season for Benantar.

MCLA will be off until Tuesday when they travel to Castleton for a key conference matchup.
