Grimshaw to take over Women's Tennis program at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, MA--Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Director of Athletics Laura Mooney announced that Trevor Grimshaw will be the new head coach of the women's tennis program, effective immediately.  Grimshaw has served as the men's tennis coach for the team's last three seasons. He will continue as the head coach for both programs.

Grimshaw will replace Holly McGovern, who coached four seasons for the Trailblazers before assuming additional duties within the Athletics Department, which opened the door for Grimshaw.

"We are very excited to have Trevor take over the women's program.  His experience and knowledge of the game will prove invaluable as he looks to lead the women's program to further success," MCLA Director of Athletics Laura Mooney said.

Grimshaw inherits a program that went 6-7 a year ago, narrowly missing out on the playoffs.  MCLA placed a pair of players on the All-NAC team in 2015; both of those players will return to MCLA for the 2016 season.

Grimshaw currently teaches at the Bennington Tennis Center and resides in Bennington.

The Trailblazers will play their first match under Grimshaw on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Sage College.
