MCLA nets a pair of victories over Bay Path and Curry

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers played host to both Bay Path College and Curry College today.

In their first match of the day they beat Bay Path 3-0 with scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-23. The Trailblazers took the lead in each set and never looked back.

Allie Chang led the way for the Trailblazers recording seven kills on 16 attempts and she was backed up by Sam Anderson who had six kills on 14 attempts. Defensively Kendra Hobbs had 16 digs while Jackie Paluilis had 11. Courtney Parent helped her team secure crucial game points by recording five aces.

For the visitors of Bay Path, Kate Bartels and Elizabeth Haylette had 9 kills, while teammate Brittany Morin had 5. Both Bartels and Kacie Bayreuther recorded double digit digs 10 and 16.

With the win the Trailblazers improve to 6-5 and Bay Path falls to 1-9.

Game two:

After dropping the first two sets the Trailblazers fought back this to beat Curry College 3-2; 19-25, 21-25, 25-18, 28-26, 15-13.

Curry took control of the first two sets of the match but not before the Trailblazers dug deep and came away with the win.

A back and forth game three came away with MCLA being on top and they never looked back as they went on to win three straight sets and the match.

Chang and Paluilis both finished with 23 digs and Hobbs followed close behind with 18. Freshman Rachel Mills had 17 kills and Darien Quick had 14.

With the win the Trailblazers now improve to 7-5.
