Volleyball releases 2016 schedule
North Adams, MA- After a record setting 2015 in which the Volleyball program went 24-11, won their first ever MASCAC regular season title, and advanced to the ECAC finals, the Trailblazers are ready to pounce as the fall schedule looms in the distance. MCLA will face a challenging 28 game slate that begins on September 1st.
The Trailblazers will open their season with eight straight road contests. They begin play at Eastern Connecticut on the 1st followed by competing in the Morrisville State tournament for four games that weekend. A road match at Mount Holyoke along with Tri Match at Norwich highlight the next week of action before heading into MASCAC play.
MCLA will open defense of their regular season title on September 13th when they challenge rival Westfield State in the home opener. A home non conference tri match on the 17th continues the homestand before MCLA will head back out on the road for five of the next six matches.
The stretch begins with a match at Williams on the 20th while the Trailblazers host Southern Vermont on the 23rd. Road games at MMA, Anna Maria, Regis, and Mount St. Mary's take MCLA into October.
After the trip to New York, MCLA will open a six match homestand. They open with Sage (10/4) and Keene State (10/6) before hosting a tri match with Wells and Johnson State on the 8th. MASCAC Tournament champions, the Framingham State Rams, will come to the Amsler Center on the 11th for a pivotal conference match, while St. Joseph (CT) rounds out the homestand on the 13th.
The Trailblazers wrap up their season with three out of four on the road including a trio of MASCAC matchups. MCLA travels to Salem State on the 15th while they'll host the Worcester State Lancers on the 19th. A non conference road match at Cobleskill is on the 25th while the regular season ends with a trip to Bridgewater State on the 29th.
The MASCAC postseason tournament will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd and conclude on the fifth.
