Volleyball swept on day one of Morrisville State Tournament

Morrisville, NY- The MCLA Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches today in the opening round of the Morrisville tournament.  The Trailblazers fell in the opener to the hosts in heart breaking fashion 3-2 before dropping a 3-0 decision to Kean in the nightcap.

In the opening match against Morrisville, MCLA dropped the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18 before mounting a rally.  The visitors would stay alive on the heels of a 26-24 third set win and ultimately send the match to a deciding fifth set with a 25-17 win in set four.

Morrisville would control the fifth and final set besting MCLA 15-7 to earn the win.

Maggie Allen had 11 kills to lead the offense while Allison Clark added 9 kills and 12 digs in defeat.  Chanielle Enomoto had a team high 16 digs while Beatrice Lechler and Taylor Wiese added 19 and 18 assists respectively.

In the nightcap, MCLA couldn't keep pace with Kean dropping three straight sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-6. 

Clark once again led MCLA with 5 kills and 6 digs.  Lechler had 12 assists in the loss.

The Trailblazers are back in action with a pair of games tomorrow to wrap up play in the event.
