Volleyball falls to Regis 3-0 in non conference action

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's volleyball team earned their second consecutive win on Thursday night, as the beat the MCLA Trailblazers in straight sets (25-19, 25-19, 25-23).

With the win, Regis improves to 3-11 on the season, while the Trailblazers fall to 7-9.

A balanced Pride attack kept MCLA guessing all night long, as six different Regis players registered kills on the evening. Junior co-captain Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) led the way with eight, followed by rookie outside Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) with seven. Junior setter Shay Faber (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) had another strong evening for Regis, dishing out 23 assists in the victory.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Pride got contributions from up and down their lineup, led once again by Connolly with 11 digs. The Pride turned in an impressive blocking effort on the night as well, recording a season-high 10 blocks in the win. Sophomore middle Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) led all players with six blocks on the evening.

For the Trailblazers, senior outside Allison Clark (San Jose, Calif.) led all players with 12 kills in the losing effort. Defensively, libero Chanielle Enomoto (Wailuku, Maui) led MCLA with 12 digs. 

Next up for Regis, they'll play host to Bay Path University in its final NECC opener on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. MCLA returns to the court for a tri-match the same day, with matches against Mt. St. Mary's and William Patterson.
