Volleyball tops Bridgewater in five sets, will be third seed in MASCAC Championships

Bridgewater, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team already had secured a berth in next week's MASCAC Championships, however a win on the road at Bridgewater State would earn the Trailblazers a three seed.  MCLA did just that earning a hard fought 3-2 win over the Bears in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Trailblazers (15-13, 4-2 MASCAC) will now host sixth seeded Salem State on Wednesday evening at 7pm.  MCLA defeated the Vikings 3-0 earlier this season on the road.  The Bears fall to 10-19 (3-3 MASCAC) and will host Worcester State on Wednesday.

MCLA took the first set 25-20 before dropping the second 25-19.  The Trailblazers routed the Bears 25-10 in the third while BSU forced a fifth set with a 25-19 win in the fourth.  MCLA would edge out BSU 16-14 to earn the win.

MCLA was paced by Allison Clark would collected 14 kills and 5 digs in the win.  Sam Anderson and Maggie Allen chipped in on the attack with 10 kills each.  Taylor Wiese had 17 assists while Beatrice Lechler had 10.

The Bears were led by Erin Clifford's 17 kills.  Clara Goncalves and Hannah Maymon had 11 and 10 kills respectively for BSU.  Charleyne Panner had a match high 29 assists and 12 digs.
