Trailblazer Volleyball rolls past Castleton 3-0
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball program rolled past Castleton University 3-0 this evening in non conference action. With the win the Trailblazers improve to 6-14 while the Spartans drop to 5-11.
MCLA took the first set 25-10 before winning the second 25-13. They would close out the match with a 25-12 win in the third set.
The Trailblazers had a well balanced stat sheet. Sophomore Alyssa Keegan collected a match best 10 kills on 17 attacks to lead the offense. Bri O'Rourke added 7 kills while Maggie Allen ended with 6. MCLA had a productive offensive night hitting a season best .329 in the win.
Setting up the offense was the duo of Taylor Wiese and Natasha Stewart. The pair combined for 32 assists on MCLA's 35 kills. Mele Enomoto paced the defense with 11 digs.
MCLA notched 11 aces in the match led by Stewart's four.
For the Spartans, they were led by Maria Jackson's five kills. Meghan Zawatsky had 9 digs in the loss.
MCLA will host Bridgewater State and Eastern Connecticut on Saturday in a key tri match.
