Walter-Goodspeed Claims Defensive Player of the Week Honors
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Senior libero Ellie Walter-Goodspeed (Auburn, WA) has been named as the MASCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Framingham State's Anna Szymanski as Offensive Player of the Week and Worcester State's Beatrice Gamboa-Estrella as Rookie of the Week joined Walter-Goodspeed as this week's award winners.
Walter-Goodspeed registered double-digit digs in a 3-0 week for the Trailblazers, averaging 5.18 per set. She had 23 digs in both a four-set conference win over Bridgwater State, and another four-set triumph over Saint Joseph's (ME) as well as 11 (including her 1,000th career) in a non-conference sweep over Saint Joseph (CT).
Water-Goodspeed and the Trailblazers will put their 10-match winning streak on the line Wednesday at 6pm in the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium when they host Bay Path University.
