MCLA Women's Cross Country 35th at ECAC

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Winning streaks continued at the 2011 ECAC Championships.  The Middlebury Women won their 3rd straight.

On the women's side, Middlebury finished an impressive 1, 2, 4, 5, and 15 for their commanding victory with 24 points.  Senior Claire McIlvennie was the first cover the 6k course in 22.33 followed by senior Hannah Meier in 22.40.  Emily D'Addario from Williams broke up the

Middlebury pack with her third place finish in 22.41.

The Williams women finished in second place with 40 points and Tufts University finished in third place with 162 points.

MCLA was 35th overall out of forty competing colleges and universities. Danielle Sylvester was first for MCLA and 141st overall with a time of 27:13 and senior Caitlin Culver was 151st with a time of 27:32. There was a total field of 276.

Despite the Nor'easter snowstorm that swept through western Massachusetts with 10 inches last Friday, the snow melted for a clear, sunny, and dry race and produced impressive finishing times and efforts.
