Johansen, McDonald Named to 2025 MASCAC Spring Sportsmanship Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. – 34 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2025 Spring Sportsmanship Teams.

The MASCAC Sportsmanship Team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the values of the MASCAC and its Sportsmanship Statement, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season. A student-athlete from each institution is selected by their coach to be placed on the Sportsmanship Team of the sport in which they compete.

"Congratulations to the 34 exceptional MASCAC student-athletes recognized on the Spring Sportsmanship Team," said MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann. "These individuals consistently demonstrated the core value of sportsmanship that lies at the heart of both the MASCAC and NCAA missions, showing respect and integrity both on and off the field throughout the season."

The sports that are represented on the spring team are baseball, women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track and field and softball.

Starting off the 2025 Spring Sportsmanship team list is baseball. Shane Handrahan of Bridgewater State, Matt Smith of Fitchburg State, Keith Ramsey of Framingham State, Ryan McDonald of MCLA, Jake Houston of Massachusetts Maritime, Dylan Adamson of Salem State, John Nickerson of Westfield State and Mason Bates of Worcester State make up this year's squad.

Next on this year's team are the honorees from women's lacrosse which are Katie Murphy of Bridgewater State, Dakin Kovatch of Fitchburg State, Molly Lanier of Framingham State, Allie Dickinson of Massachusetts Maritime, Nora Bradley of Salem State, Sydney Smith of Westfield State and Hannah Erickson of Worcester State.

For men's outdoor track and field, Nick Grace of Bridgewater State, Jaden Madden of Fitchburg State, Jackson Holschuh of Massachusetts Maritime, Will Buckley of Westfield State and Gio Casiano of Worcester State are this year's honorees.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field is next with Natalie Kalgren of Bridgewater State, Alanis Velez of Fitchburg State, Megan McAuliffe of Framingham State, Marnay Acri-Burns of Massachusetts Maritime, Eliza Lee of Westfield State and Arianna Constant of Worcester State earning the sportsmanship recognition.

Rounding out this year's Spring Sportsmanship teams is softball with Lily Gagnon of Bridgewater State, Priscilla Dillon of Fitchburg State, Jocelyn Pepe of Framingham State, Juliana Johansen of MCLA, Natalie Gale of Massachusetts Maritime, Isabella Perrotti of Salem State, Jocelyn Mettey of Westfield State and Sarah Gosselin of Worcester State.
