MCLA swept by Dickinson in Winter Haven, 9-4 and 7-1

Winter Haven, Fl- The MCLA Baseball team lost a pair of games to Dickinson (PA) this afternoon in Winter Haven by scores of 9-4 and 7-1.  John Ripepi had three hits on the afternoon for the Trailblazers.  MCLA is now 2-2 overall while Dickinson improved to 7-1.

In the opener MCLA actually led after one inning of play after Joe Parillo doubled home Ripepi and Bobby Beauchesne followed with a two run single.  It was the only lead of the afternoon for the Trailblazers.  Dickinson responded with a pair of runs in the second inning to take the lead for keeps.

Cody Weaver suffered the loss for MCLA in the opener giving up six runs in two and two thirds innings in his Trailblazer debut.  Mike Meaney was solid out of the bullpen working four and one third innings giving up only one earned run.

Game two was much of the same as Dickinson got to MCLA starter Rick Massey for a run in the first and exploding for five in the second.  MCLA was held to a pair of hits on the afternoon by Dickinson starter Evan Fitzpatrick. 

MCLA will return to action on Monday against New England Regional champion UMass-Boston on Monday.
