Baseball is sloppy in 11-1 loss to Utica

Winter Haven, FL- Utica College used a complete game effort from John Lupzak and they belted out 12 hits off three Trailblazer pitchers as they easily dispatched of MCLA 11-1 in the RussMatt Invitational.  Utica is now 4-1 on the season while the Trailblazers fall to 4-3.

Utica took advantage of the Trailblazer defense, which committed six errors on the day, and took a 3-0 lead after three innings of play of MCLA starter Liam Nolan.  The Pioneers would add two more in the fourth and sixth innings, before putting MCLA away with a four run seventh.

MCLA only mustered one run that came in the seventh inning.  Andrew Gilvey hit a pinch hit double and came around to score on Ryan Grande's RBI single to left field.

Liam Nolan took the loss for MCLA tossing the first four innings.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Friday when they take on Colby Sawyer in a doubleheader at Chain of Lakes Park.
