Baseball drops game two to Becker 7-4

Auburndale, FL- The Becker College baseball team rallied after losing game one to MCLA as they defeated the Trailblazers 7-4 in the nightcap at the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale.  Becker is now 4-5 on the season while MCLA drops to 2-3.

The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning off Trailblazer starter Nate Alibozek.  Four straight Hawks reached base while Chris Testa and Randall Minogue drove in runs.  The Trailblazers would score a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to trim the deficit to 3-2 highlighted by a sacrifice fly from Liam Nolan and an RBI single from freshman Antonio Archina.

Becker would create some separation with four runs in the top of the fifth to take control.  Trevor Read drove one home on a groundout and Niko Bedell had the key blow, a two run double to the left center gap making it 7-2.

MCLA would threaten to get closer in the bottom of the inning loading the bases with just one out, however Becker reliever Nicholas Hawrylciw would escape getting a pair of strikeouts to end the frame.

The Trailblazers would get a pair of runs in the home sixth when they loaded the bases and a pair of runs came across on an infield miscue.  They avoided further damage by getting a fly out to deep left field.

Michael Iacovelli picked up the win throwing four innings without allowing an earned run.  Bedell had two hits to lead the offense for Becker.

Alibozek was tagged with the loss going the first four innings and allowing five hits and three earned runs.  He struck out four.

Myles Candelet and Archina led the offense with a pair of hits.
