Trailblazer baseball drops game one to Colby Sawyer

Auburndale, FL- The Colby Sawyer baseball team knocked out 15 hits as they handled the MCLA Trailblazers 12-2 in game one of a doubleheader at Lake Myrtle Park.

Colby Sawyer scored in each of the first five innings as they were aggressive all game long.  The Chargers stole ten bases on the afternoon.  They scored a run in the first, two in the second, and one in the third to take an early 4-0 lead.  The Trailblazers would take advantage of a Charger error with two outs and Billy Pulasky singled in a pair of runs cutting the deficit to just 4-2 after three innings of play.

CSC responded with a single run in the fourth before a three run uprising in the fifth made it 8-2.  MCLA threatened in the bottom half of the inning putting runners on second and third with one out, but the Chargers flashed some leather when Liam Nolan flied out to left and then they threw out Ryan Shook attempting to score from third keeping the score at 8-2.

Todd Hunt took the loss for MCLA throwing the first four innings and giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, all earned.  He walked four and struck out four.  Pulasky was a perfect 4-4 on the afternoon to lead the offense.  Nate Gutmann and Shook also had three hits.

Chris Mitchell earned the win for CSC going five innings and allowing both unearned runs.  He allowed 8 hits and struck out three.  Austin Butler, Doug Avellino, Jackson Musco, and Drew Inglesi each had two hits for Colby Sawyer.  Avellino drove in three runs.
