Adams, Mack go deep as Baseball defeats Gallaudet 15-9

Auburndale, FL-- MCLA's Randy Adams went 3-5 with a home run and 5 RBI's to spark the Trailblazer offense to a 15-9 win over Gallaudet this evening in the RussMatt Invitational.  The Trailblazers snapped a two game slide in the process as they improve to 3-6 on the season.  The Bison are now 4-9 overall.

MCLA starting pitcher James Sneyd set the Bison down in the top of the first inning and then the Trailblazer offense started hot.  After Robinson Guerrero-Baez singled, Adams doubled to left to put runners on second and third.  MCLA took a 1-0 lead on Robert Correia's sacrifice fly and then Isaiah Mack stepped up and belted a long home run into left field that made it 3-0.

Galluadet would trim the margin to 3-2 with two runs off Sneyd in the second, but MCLA answered with a pair of runs in the third and then in the fourth Adams capped a four run outburst with his first home run, a three run shot into left to make it 9-2.

Sneyd pitched the first five innings and left holding a 9-4 lead.  Gallaudet made a game of it scoring three times in the sixth off Trailblazer reliever Nate Morse and it was now 9-7.

MCLA finally pulled away as Adams keyed another rally with a two run single while Ty Mazzeo also drove in a pair.  MCLA tacked on solo runs in the seventh and eighth innings to make it 15-7.  Gallaudet would add two more runs off Morse in the ninth, but the right hander would get a strikeout to close the game.

MCLA outhit Gallaudet 15-11 in the contest.  Aside from Adams big day, Mack also added three hits and three RBI.  Guerrero-Baez ended a perfect 3-3 with four runs scored as well.

Sneyd earned his first win allowing 6 hits and striking out 6 batters.  He's now 1-0.  Morse earned the save going the final four innings.  He also struck out six batters over his four innings.

MCLA is back at it tomorrow when they take on Maine-Presque Isle in a twinbill starting at 1pm.
