Rachiele collects MASCAC Player of the Week honors
North Adams, MA-- MCLA senior center fielder Austin Rachiele (Pittsfield, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC Player of the Week as announced by the league offices this afternoon. Rachiele is the second straight Trailblazer to earn the honor joining Randy Adams' award last week. Rachiele was joined on the weekly honors by Mass Maritime's Brodey Tinkham (pitcher of the week) and Hunter Dean (rookie of the week).
Rachiele ended the Florida swing on a positive note and those streaks continued when the Trailblazers began northern play. The senior started the week by going 3-5 with three runs scored, a double, and a triple in a 9-8 extra inning loss to RPI on Wednesday. He would add a pair of hits, four runs scored, and six walks in a doubleheader sweep of Russell Sage on Saturday.
On the season, Rachiele is batting .373 with a team leading 17 runs scored. He has drawn 14 walks and stolen 6 bases this season for the Trailblazers.
Rachiele and the Trailblazers are off all week before starting up league play on Friday against Bridgewater State.
