Baseball loses series opener to Rams 5-1

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to secure the 5-1 victory against MCLA this afternoon at Bowditch Field in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Rams built a strong 4-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first and an RBI single by Daniel Robichaud in the bottom of the third.

MCLA made it on the board in the top of the fourth with a single run. Austin Rachiele came around to score on an RBI double to right center off the bat of Isaiah Mack.

After a near scoreless fourth and fifth inning, the Rams closed the game with a final single run in the bottom of the sixth when Kevin Girardin recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly to deep center field, sending Cameron Gilroy home.

Scott Nosky earned the complete-game victory for the Rams going nine innings allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts.

Steven Burbank and Robichaud finished the game with a pair of hits and two RBI for the Rams.

Ryan Boyle, Kennedy Wilson, and Gilroy all recorded hits for the Rams in the victory.

The Trailblazers received a pair of hits from Mack in the game.

Aidan Brett took the loss on the mound allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits with six strikeouts.
