Adams named second team All MASCAC

2022 All MASCAC Baseball Release

North Adams, MA-- MCLA senior utility player Randy Adams (Fullerton, CA/Santiago HS) was named to the All MASCAC Second Team the league announced this afternoon.  Bridgewater State's Jay Wladkowski and Massachusetts Maritime's Brodey Tinkham have been named the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year and headline the 2022 MASCAC All-Conference team as voted by the eight coaches from around the league.  Scott Emerson and Greg Zackrison of Bridgewater State took home the Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.

Adams had an outstanding season batting in the middle of the Trailblazer lineup.  The right handed hitter batted .301 with a team leading 37 hits, 41 RBI's, and 4 home runs.  The 41 RBI's were good enough for second in the MASCAC just behind Wladkowski's 43.  Adams added a team best 13 doubles to his stat line as he appeared in 34 games for MCLA.  He battled ankle issues for most of the season as well coming out of the Florida trip.

After a slow start to the season, Adams heated up over the final four games in the sunshine state.  He went 10-16 over that stretch with four doubles, two homers, and 12 RBI's.  For his efforts, he claimed the MASCAC player of the week.

Adams had a chance to set the school record for RBI's in a season but came up just short of the mark.  The record was 46 set by Jose Diaz (2000), Sean McElroy (2001), and Tom Rizzo (1987).  His 41 will rank him fourth all time at the college.

Grabbing a spot on the MASCAC First Team All-Conference along with Wladkowski, Tinkham and Emerson are Fitchburg State's Vincent Eramo and Connor Morehouse, Framingham State's Ryan Boyle, Mass. Maritime's Brenden Baiardi, Zach Sylvia and Brett Velzis, Salem State's Zachary Piroh, Westfield State's Nick Martin and Samuel Palmer, and Worcester State's Ben Smith.

Earning a spot on the MASCAC second team are Bridgewater State's Joe Frechette, Matt Josselyn, Tyler Dasilva-Medeiros, and Matthew Seavey, Fitchburg State's Zachary Malek, MCLA's Adams, Mass. Maritime's Aidan Henderson and Alex Schlapak, Salem State's Jake Boucher, Westfield State's Nolan Florence and Damien Maniscalco and Worcester State's Sean Devin and Thomas DiBattista.
