Trailblazer Men earn #2 seed in MASCAC tourney, host semifinal game Thursday

MASCAC Men's Basketball Championship Release
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's basketball team, fresh off a 9-3 conference slate, has earned the #2 seed in next week's MASCAC championship. The top two seeds in the tournament recieve quarterfinal round byes into the semifinals. Westfield State has earned the #1 seed.
The Trailblazers will host a semifinal round game on Thursday night at 7pm. MCLA will await the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal round matchup between #3 seed Salem State and #6 seed Worcester State. That matchup will be played at Salem. The other quarterfinal matchup will pit #5 seed Fitchburg State traveling to #4 seed Bridgewater State. The winner of that contest will meet Westfield on Thursday.
The Trailblazers took both matchups this season against both prospective opponents.
The finals of the championship will be held on Saturday afternoon at the highest remaining seed. Game time is yet to be determined.
The Trailblazers are seeking their first championship since the 1998-1999 season in which they shared the title with Salem State. MCLA hasn't won an outright title since 1989.
