Fisher holds off MCLA 87-76 on senior day in Men's Basketball

North Adams, MA- The visiting Fisher College men's basketball team placed three players in double figures as they withstood a second half surge from MCLA en route to an 87-76 victory over the Trailblazers on senior day.  The Falcons improve to 20-7 on the season, while MCLA drops to 8-15.

The game was sloppy as the teams combined for 60 fouls and 68 free throws.  

Fisher led most of the way, but MCLA erased a 16 point second half deficit before the Falcons took ultimate control.  Fisher led 48-32 with 17:38 left, however MCLA went on 16-3 spurt over the next four minutes capped off by back to back jams from Isshiah Coleman to cut the margin to just 51-48.

The Falcons responded and pushed the lead back to nine points (61-51), but MCLA once again fought back.  They eventually tied the game at 68 all with 6:05 left to play on a Coleman putback.  Fisher regained the lead on the next possession, however MCLA would keep battling and when Coleman finished again just a minute later, they led 74-73, their first lead since the game's opening minute.

Fisher's OJ Moore answered with a three pointer and the Falcons never trailed after that.  They pulled away by scoring the games final nine points to post the victory.

In the opening half MCLA scored the opening basket, but then it was Fisher from there.  They would score the next 13 points to grab an early 13-2 lead.  A few minutes later, MCLA would score six straight to get within 17-12, but the Falcons responded with an 8-1 spurt to lead 25-13 with 9:06 left.  MCLA would get within seven at 27-20, but Fisher outscored the Trailblazers 15-7 over the final six minutes to grab a 42-28 halftime advantage.

MCLA shot just 24% in the opening half compared to a 50% showing from the visitors.  Tyler Shular had 14 first half points for Fisher while OJ Moore added 10.  Ruben DelRosario led MCLA with 9 in the half.

Fisher was paced by Tyler Shular's game best 21 points.  He was a perfect 10-10 from the line in the win.  Moore ended with 19 points and completed the double double by snagging 12 rebounds and added 5 assists.  Chris Green finished with 16 points.  The Falcons shot 43% from the floor in the win.

For MCLA, Ruben DelRosario scored a team best 15 points.  Coleman came off the bench to record a double double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Kenny Suggs added 11 points while Careem Kirksey chipped in with 10.  MCLA shot just 31% for the game.

MCLA honored their six seniors playing their final regular season home game.  At halftime, MCLA head coach Jamie Morrison honored Kenny Suggs, Anthony Barbosa, Kraig Page, Ruben DelRosario, and Todd Hunt.
