North Adams, MA- MCLA first year guard Keiland Cross has been named the MASCAC rookie of the week for the fifth time this season.  The conference announced their awards earlier this afternoon.

Bridgewater State's Joe Carty was tabbed as the conference's player of the week.

Cross has been outstanding all season long for MCLA and he filled the stat sheet again this week.  He started the week by amassing 15 points and a season best 9 assists in a road loss at Salem State on Wednesday.  He would add 22 points and six rebounds in a home loss to Framingham on Saturday.

For the week, Cross averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 7 rebounds for the Trailblazers.  He currently leads the conference in assists and is fifth in points per game averaging over 15 ppg.

Cross earned top rookie honors in November before claiming three straight awards in December along with a player of the week nod.

The Trailblazers continue MASCAC play on Wednesday night when they travel to Fitchburg State for a 5:30pm tipoff.
