Yearsley repeats as MASCAC rookie of the week after another impressive week

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year forward Noah Yearsley (Averill Park, NY) has repeated as the MASCAC rookie of the week following another impressive week.  Yearsley averaged 14 points for MCLA in a pair of contests.

Salem State's Shaquan Murray was selected as the league's player of the week after averaging 19.3 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Vikings.

Yearsley continues to be an effective weapon on offense for the Trailblazers.  He scored 11 points in a key road win at Fitchburg State on Wednesday night and followed that up with another solid showing at Fisher on Saturday.  In that contest, Yearsley scored 17 points with a pair of rebounds and a blocked shot.  The Trailblazers went 1-1 on the week and currently sit in a three way tie for third place in the MASCAC at 2-2.  MCLA was winless in the league last season.

Yearsley is 12th in the league in scoring as he leads the team with 13.6 points per game.  He's shooting 41% from the floor, but converts 86% of his free throw attempts, which is second in the league.

Yearsley and the Trailblazers kick off an important week on Tuesday as they host MASCAC leader Salem State at 7:30.  MCLA has a three game week as they head to Framingham State on Thursday and start the second rotation on Saturday at Westfield State University.
