Gittens earns Co-MASCAC player of the week honors

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA-- MCLA junior forward Quentin Gittens (Pittsfield, MA) was selected as the MASCAC Co-Player of the week as the conference announced their weekly honors.  Gittens shares the award with Westfield State's Justin Rennis.  He also joins teammate Tyler Showers as the only Trailblazers to earn accolades this season.

Gittens played in only one contest, but it was an important one.  He scored a season best 21 points, added 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in a win on the road at Fitchburg State.  Gittens helped the Trailblazers avenge an earlier loss to the Falcons and rebound from a halftime deficit.

The forward was 9-18 shooting and also helped the defense with a pair of steals.  On the season, he's averaging 10.7 points per game but also contributes as a rebounder and passer.

Gittens and the Trailblazers are in action this evening as they head to Framingham State for a key tilt against the Rams.  The game marks the front end of a home and home series as MCLA hosts Framingham on Wednesday.
